SALTBURN DISTRICT U3A became an independent group within UK U3A in April 2005 and obtained charitable status in May 2005 (No.1109691). Currently (May 2008) the group has over 400 members who are drawn from a wide area of East Cleveland including Saltburn, Marske, New Marske, Loftus, Skelton, Easington, Brotton and Redcar.

Membership runs from 1st April to 31st March and the annual subscription is £6. Courses cost from 50p to £1.50 per session. The courses we can offer (see Groups and Current Curriculum) are very much dependent on Group Leaders volunteering. Most groups have between 10-20 attending each session although larger groups ie Theatre and Excursions can fill a coach for an outing.
